About

Charles Fudge has been auctioning Fine Art and High-End Antiques for almost 4 decades.  He says that being passed over for a promotion in his prior occupation was the best thing that could have ever happened to him.  It motivated him to go to Auction School and become self-employed.  Almost 40 years later, he has never looked back.  Antiques and Art are in his blood, and he can't think of another thing he would rather do.  He is so committed to the business that he actually left for NY  the morning after his wedding because the phone rang advising him of an estate he could purchase. if he could be there within 24 hours.  We still joke about that!, but it does paint an accurate picture of his dedication to the antique business.

Antiques and Art are in Charlie Fudge's blood, and he can't think of another thing he would rather do.  He learned the art of buying and selling from his mother when he was barely 12 years old.  It is a way of life for him.  He is so committed to the industry that he actually left for NY  the morning after his wedding because the phone rang advising him of an estate he could purchase if he got there in alotted time frame.  Good thing he didn't get a speeding ticket, because he sure was in a hurry back to his bride making the round trip in record time!   Professional Appraisers and Liquidators is the epitome of the term "family business".  His children  and grandchildren as well as brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews are either directly involved in the business, or help out occasionally.  The thing that really sets the business apart is the integrity with which it is run.  Clients are often quite surprised that the business is run with old fashioned values.  The reputation for honesty, in a field where the word itself can be a contradiction, has been the source of referrals throughout the years.  Auction-goers as well as consignors and sellers always comment on the positive experience they have had with the firm, and there is no better advertising for any business  than positive word-of-mouth referrals.

Citrus County is a WONDERFUL place to live and work!  Most of Charlie Fudge's near 40-year auction career has taken place right here (with the exception of about 15 years in Pinellas County, FL).  We love the fact that  Citrus County is in a rural setting, yet is within about an hour from Tampa, St Petersburg, Gainesville, Ocala and about 1 1/2 hours from Orlando.  The proximity to the larger cities makes shopping and culture possible, but you can return home to the suburbs - perhaps even passing cattle or horses along the way.   The people are another favorite in Citrus County.  Citrus County is not quite "Mayberry" but the people here are every bit as friendly!
