Brenda Waugh, Attorney at Law, L.C. is a small, client-centered law firm with offices located in  Berkeley and Jefferson Counties, West Virginia and in Washington, D.C. Since 2000, our office has provided assistance to hundreds of families with their legal problems ranging from car accidents, insurance disputes, crime victim’s compensation, consumer issues and civil rights. We provide the full range of options, including alternative dispute resolutions, such as mediation, as well as litigation, as we partner with clients to address their legal issues and reach their goals.

Brenda Waugh has over twenty-five years of experience as a lawyer and mediator. A native of Princeton, West Virginia, she graduated with honors from the University of Virginia in 1982. She graduated from West Virginia University Law School in 1987 and in 2009 earned a Masters Degree in Conflict Resolution from Eastern Mennonite University. She is licensed to practice in West Virginia and the District of Columbia.

Ms. Waugh has worked with victims of violence as a legal services attorney and as an assistant prosecuting attorney. She has also been selected and served as a clerk to the West Virginia Supreme Court of Appeals and served as counsel to the West Virginia Senate Judiciary Committee. Ms. Waugh has taught courses at both West Virginia University and the Center for Justice and Peace at Eastern Mennonite University. She has published several articles and presented papers and conducted workshops at conferences throughout the United States and Canada.

Ms. Waugh is certified as a mediator in both West Virginia and Virginia. She is also qualified by the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals to accept cases involving collaborative law. She is a member of several groups in the area of restorative justice.
