About

Bridjit Inc. specializes in the manufacture of a modular sectionalized curb ramp system designed to correct specific problems associated with rolled curb driveway entries.

A rolled curb (aka California Curb, extruded or 45° curb) driveway entry is recognizable by having a uniform curb and gutter system installed within your neighborhood that does not change in shape as it crosses your driveway.  This curb entry creates significant problems to vehicles that enter and exit over extended periods of time including damaging tires, the undercarriage, wheels, shocks, axles or the exhaust.  Passengers also experience an annoying jolt or jarring motion at the moment of contact with the roll-over curb driveway entry.

Owner and inventor, John Curry, designed and developed the Bridjit Curb Ramp to provide an environmentally sound, cost-effective solution to rolled curb developments.
Curry’s idea for the product occurred when he purchased a home with a roll-over curb driveway entry and experienced the daily annoyance and damaging impact to his vehicle. His concept was to develop a low-impact ramp that would provide a bridge to ease entry and exit to and from the driveway.

Developers began using rolled curbs after 1980 when they began to install curbs, gutters and streets prior to the actual planning the location of homes in the development.  This allows the developers the option to sell different style houses placing them on building sites as they were purchased with no concern to driveway placement.  The result however is that vehicles experience numerous problems and there is little to no recourse for the homeowner.

In addition to the jolt felt by the passengers, the impact can also misalign wheels, causing extensive tire wear, decreasing gas mileage and cause damage to steering components and wheels.

There are an estimated 9 million rolled curbs in the U.S. and Canada.  Bridjit Curb Ramps are ideal to assist with the ingress and egress of any model or style cars, modified vans, trucks, motorcycles, RVs, golf carts, or towed trailers.

Low Environmental Impact

The Bridjit Curb Ramp is manufactured as an environmentally green product from recycled crumb rubber. It requires 12 recycled passenger tires per three section set. It is considered a “green” automotive aftermarket product because it is both recyclable and made from recycled products.  The ramp allows water to flow underneath and will not affect street sweeping activities and can be removed as needed to clean the gutter area.  The product is designed for a zero environmental impact with no runoff or seepage of chemicals.

Product Detail Information

The Bridjit Curb Ramp is generally sold as a set of three 4’ modular sections. The three piece set provides 12’ of driveway coverage. Additional center sections can be added as needed to accommodate wider driveways. The only tools required are a hammer and screwdriver.

The curb ramp section design is a 48” long  x 16” wide double wedge which is 3” thick at the center tapering to 3/4"” on each side.  Bolted together, the weight for three sections is approx 150 lbs. plus 50 pounds for each added section.  Each end section has a compound angle to assist with the flow of water and debris, and is ramped for ease of parallel parking.  A large water channel located in the bottom middle section provides primary drainage.

The product is sold nationwide both direct from the company and through a number of internet and retail resellers.  The three section set (left, right and center) has a MSRP of $299 with additional center sections priced at $99. All sections sold, plus freight.
