About

Community Education Council District 15 (CEC15) shapes education policies and advocates for high quality education that benefits all of our public elementary and middle school students in District 15.  As a parent advocacy group, CEC15 reflects the needs and wishes of the community on education policy.

CEC15 serves an advisory role on education matters to the District Superintendent, the Chancellor of Education as well as elected officials.  The 32 CECs of New York City also approve district school zoning lines submitted by the Department of Education. CEC15 is also in a position to amplify our schools' achievements and share best practices across the district, fostering community and helping raise the quality of all our schools.

A state-mandated public body, CEC15 conducts at least two monthly meetings, which are always open to the public and comments from the community on educational issues are welcomed at the monthly Calendar Meetings.  Comments from the community are also welcomed via  phone, mail, email correspondence.
