The Call Me MISTER Program is a national teacher leadership program that not only prepares you for a successful career as an elementary teacher but also provides you with resources that will place you in a positi.on to effectively impact the lives of children.
Cheyney University is part of a national initiative designed
to encourage more African American males to dedicate
their lives to becoming role models in the field of
education. The program, named MISTER (the Mentors
Instructing Students Towards Effective Role Models) is
backed by the Pennsylvania Department of Education. State
Representative James Roebuck, Chairman of the House
Education Committee, was influential in obtaining the grant
for Cheyney University.
