About

CayDa Foundation is a nonprofit organization focus on finding innovative ways to improve the Vietnamese-American community through research, advocacy, organizational collaboration, and social entrepreneurship.

Our Vision:
The vision of CayDa Foundation is to see families and communities—motivated by their heritage—giving back to the society that strengthened them.

We believe in a form of philanthropic reciprocity: help others after others have helped you. The Vietnamese American community is considered young, having only arrived to America in multiple waves since 1975 as refugees and immigrants. Many private and public support programs have helped this community adapt and integrate into American society. But more can still be done for the Vietnamese Americans before they are considered equal to American society as a whole. Furthermore, we cannot simply stop there as just merely being equal—other minorities have also struggled, and we wish to see Vietnamese Americans stand side-by-side with their American brethren advocating for a prosperous, broader American community.

Our Mission:
We conduct research to understand issues and disparities among communities, as well as to determine strategies and solutions. We do advocacy to help spread awareness on these issues and solutions, underscoring its impact on the Vietnamese American community in the context of the broader American community. We promote organizational collaboration to encourage the pooling of resources among organizations and community members and to leverage our individual strengths. We support social entrepreneurship to create vehicles for innovative change.
