About

The DC Chapter seeks to increase alumni awareness and involvement in the Washington, DC metropolitan area and to support the efforts of the national organization by recruiting students, awarding academic scholarships, contributing to the A&T Foundation, and being a local focal point for higher education in the local community.

On or about October 18, 1946 a group of interested alumni assembled at the home of Earl Payton for the purpose of organizing a local alumni chapter in the Washington, DC area. The first formal minutes were adopted October 22, 1946. It was decided to call the chapter "The Dee Cee Aggies". This was later changed to the "A&T Club", and later to the present name, "The D. C. Alumni Chapter of the North Carolina A&T State University Alumni Association".

Today, the Washington DC Alumni Chapter of North Carolina A&T State University is the largest A&T Alumni chapter in the nation. The chapter has a physical presence at 1810 15th Street NW at the “Aggie House” and continues to serve alumni throughout the region.
