About

Portland Vibes is blog site owned by Don J Baldwin. The site attempts to capture the flavor and spirit of Portland Oregon while addressing numerous cultural and social issues facing the country. The blog site features contributions from many writers.

Don J Baldwin is an artist, activist, published author and blogger from Marshall, Missouri and residing in Portland, Oregon.  He is a featured poet on Scriggler.com and his works have been reprinted in various modern literary publications. Baldwin is also the creator of Imogene Hurley, a spunky seven year-old red headed girl whose escapades teach children positive messages while building self-esteem. Plans to produce a complete animated pilot based on the Imogene series are currently in development.

Don employs a very unique and narrative styling to his poetry telling the story found in a moment vividly and with enormous passion without becoming ensared in details. His words paint just enough to pull the mind and the heart of his audience into the scene wherein the story becomes more of a personal experience of their own than a story shared by someone else.  As one reader mentioned: “He leaves me feeling like I just watched a movie instead of reading a poem.”

Donald currently is working toward his CADC (Certified Alchohol and Drug Counselor) and is a volunteer at local shelters and charities serving the homeless communities in Portland, Oregon. He is also imtimately involved in working to solve homelessness issues within his hometown of Marshall. During return visits Baldwin is always available to encourage and inspire students at Marshall High School where he graduated in 1985.

Donald is available for speaking engagements. Interested parties are invited to correspond through this Web site or by email to Donald directly at don_baldwin@live.com
