About

Since 1985, DuPagePads has been the catalyst for change in the lives of those who are homeless in the county. It is our mission to end homelessness in DuPage County, not just manage it. We accomplish this with a solution-oriented approach that begins by tackling the housing issue with interim (overnight) and permanent housing solutions. Our proven strategy goes beyond supplying housing alone. Adding a broad range of support services including case management and employment assistance means we help to prevent our clients from recycling back to the streets. But we cannot and do not accomplish this alone. It requires a collaborative effort among our more than 4,000 dedicated volunteers and over 160 congregations and community groups to supply food, support and hospitality to 1,360 families, veterans and individuals who are homeless in our community.

Every day our dedicated staff and volunteers work to empower our participants to rebuild their lives and work toward self-sufficiency while holding them accountable for their own progress. DuPagePads offers hope and possibility to all who enter the doors of our facilities. Inside they are greeted by compassionate and committed people who are dedicated to restoring their dignity and self-worth. We teach them that being homeless does not define them. Our success is easy to track - it's when a participant has a job, a place to call home and is able to contribute to society and the community in which he/she lives. Fortunately, DuPagePads has many of these success stores to tell.
