Jennifer Mekel is a prolific singer/songwriter, she is also a licensed ordained minister having graduated from the University of Akron and Ashland Theological Seminary. In addition to her role as Choir Mistress at the Mount Calvary Baptist Church in Akron,OH in the areas of pastoral care and worship, Mekel is a worship leader and instructs Bible Study along with music workshops for the surrounding community. Mekel believes that it is through service to others that we serve God. She uses her position as coordinator of a community initiative called The Pastors’ Project to create awareness, educate clergy and the community regarding drug abuse, chemical dependency and mental illness.
