Laboratory Testing Inc. (LTI)

Laboratory Testing Inc. (LTI) is an independent, accredited testing and metrology laboratory in business since 1984. LTI’s array of services includes metals and plastics testing, material analysis, nondestructive testing, specimen machining, failure analysis, dimensional inspection, calibration services and certified reporting of results. The laboratory holds Nadcap and A2LA accreditation and is accredited to ISO/IEC 17025, which complies with ISO 9001 and ISO 13485. The full-service laboratory performs mechanical testing, chemistry, corrosion testing, metallurgical evaluation and nondestructive testing of metals, as well as tensile and hardness testing on plastics. Chemicalanalysis is performed on various materials including metals, powdered metals, ores, ferroalloys, composites, ceramics and polymers. LTI has the capabilities to test materials for strength and durability, flaws and defects and to determine composition and susceptibility to corrosion. Failure investigations are performed to determine the root cause of a failure in a product or part designed to operate under specific service conditions. The testing area also inspects welds and provides welder and procedure qualification.

LTI's Machine Shop prepares test specimens for mechanical testing including tensile, charpy V-notch and stress rupture tests. All machining is performed using computerized numerical control (CNC) equipment in accordance with ASTM A-370, ASTM E-8 or ASTM E-23 requirements and customer specifications.

The Metrology Lab performs dimensional inspection and calibration services. Dimensional inspection is performed on surface and specialty features of machined products and parts. The Calibration Lab provides dimensional, pressure, force, torque, electrical, temperature, mass and vacuum calibration services for measuring tools, gages, standards and measuring instruments. LTI also offers oven uniformity surveys and field calibration services for surface plates, optical comparators, hardness testers, balances, compression testing machines and other equipment.
