About

LeGrand’s Steak and Seafood is dedicated to giving you a dining experience you’ll love and want to share with others. It’s not about serving good food. It’s about serving GREAT food each and every time you visit by qualified and friendly staff who truly want you to have an enjoyable experience. We purchase as much of our produce and meats as possible from local farms so it’s not only fresh but not processed with additives that kill the flavors and present health risks.

We have an expanded waiting area outside and a state of the art system to get you seated as fast as possible.

Wait until you get a taste of our appetizers, sides and desserts. You’ll find nothing to compare in Jacksonville and we haven’t even gotten to our entrees yet. Our Master Chef goes above and beyond on each and every dish to make it the best you’ve ever had. Our beef is cured in our dry aging room where you can watch our butcher cut your favorite steaks or butcher a whole salmon. And then there’s the Sunday brunch. There’s nothing in Jacksonville to compare it to. Go to our menu section and see why. You won’t be able to keep it a secret once you try it.

We love our military veterans, police and fire departments who automatically and permanently get 10% off all entrees at lunch, dinner or brunch. You’re in for life. We honor your service and appreciate your patronage. You will need a photo ID.

We won’t forget our seniors either. If you’re over 65, you deserve a 10% discount as well on all entrees.

The owners are lifetime residents of Jacksonville and qualify as seniors (with a military veteran). Our menu and bar drinks are designed to appeal to all ages and we pride ourselves on GREAT food at family prices with an unforgettable experience..

We also support multiple community activities and you’ll see various charity events taking place at LeGrand’s throughout the year.

Why the Carnival Décor? - If you were around Jacksonville in the 50′s and 60′s you may recognize some of the photos of the Boardwalk area in Jacksonville Beach.  Most people don’t know how active our beach areas really were. You could drive on the beach, ride the rides and play games.  Mayport was a favorite port for sailors, locals and tourists from around the world. You’ll also see some old photos of Jacksonville’s history and the Cowford sign near the restrooms. In case you didn’t know, that was Jacksonville’s original name until 1822.

Fred “Frenchy” LeGrand was a major player back in the 50′s and 60′s as the owner of most of the amusements. He was the father of six wonderful children and proudly raised them around the carnival. You’ll see his picture in a few places throughout the restaurant, likely next to a Merry-go-round, his favorite ride.

Ron LeGrand, one of Frenchy’s three sons, met his future wife Beverly on the boardwalk in 1965 and they were married later that year.  That was four kids, nine grandkids and six great grandkids ago.

So, to you, the pictures may simply be unique décor.  To the owners it’s their history.  We hope you enjoy them.
