About

Ask around town and rumor has it that Lyfestyle Music Group is the next up and coming label to conquer the music business and more. With superb artist like Cathy G, Notes, Charlie Thrush, and  Lex, it's not hard to believe the rumors either. Founded in the heart of Brooklyn by Tyrell J. Brown, a previous staff member of Def Jam, Columbia, MTV, BET and Sony Records, you know this label means business with a resume that strong. Tyrell was born in Brooklyn, NY and has loved music since his early childhood. Tyrell decided to start his own label in early 2004 when one day he went to execs at Def Jam and stated some opinions to the board. After many attempts, consistently being ignored and overlooked, enough became enough and Tyrell figured he'd start his own label and run it his way. Running a label wasn't easy at first and was a major headache, but once Tyrell decided to partner up with his old High School friend Courtney Pennington and they found proper office space, things became a tad bit easier. Lyfestyle Music Group officially kicked off April 17th 2006. The name Lyfestyle Music Group was chosen because music is more than just emotions spoken loudly it's a lifestyle that requires lots of passion. Over at Lyfestyle Music Group, one of the main things that separates the label from other labels is that the artists, as well as staff members from the top branch down to your newly employed interns have a say in how business is handled and gives valuable input. Each employee is in their current position because they enjoy what they do. Tyrell wants everyone to do what they do to the best of their abilities and continue to learn more and grow. Lyfestyle Music Group is a family and more than just another label. LyfestyleMG has a diversity of many different brands of music. It’s called a music group because we are not limited to just music. Television shows and films are up next, but music is the starting point.

R. Notes’ single "Fragrance" is available now on iTunes. R&B artist, Josh "Lex" has a Christmas album in the making to be released for the 2011 holidays. Artists Cathy G and Charlie Thrush both have albums slated to release in 2012. It’s easy to see that LyfestyleMG is going to be making a lot of noise in the future with plans to stay independent.
