MDP: ATL's Finest Producer/Rapper/Guitarist
24 months ago, MDP landed in China after giving into the unshakable if slightly irresponsible drive to quit his job on Wall St. and proceed to write, produce, and record a rap album. If he was going to abandon his parents' dream for him to become a doctor or a banker, why not adopt the starving artist lifestyle in a country where his dollar would get him seven times more rice. However, after spending a few months on the ground, his focus quickly became divided. He eventually found himself dedicating a large portion of his time to honing the live performance of the four-piece expat band he fronted, which featured older musicians who were far more established in their careers (the Minster Counselor of Sino-US trade affairs on the Keys). After gaining some popularity within the group, He was eventually courted to host an internationally broadcast social media and viral video review television program, similar in tone to Tosh.0, except Sinocentrically focused. The new responsibilities of his tight production schedule further delayed progress on the album. But with luck and no small investment in sweat equity, MDP completed his debut release and is now working tirelessly to tell his story and share his music with audiences in Atlanta, China, and around the world.
