About

Malteser International is an affiliate of Malteser International, the humanitarian relief and development arm of the Order of Malta, a 900 year old lay religious Order. We help people live healthier lives with dignity.

We are a global relief and development organization that is faithfully committed to helping all people in all parts of the world, without distinction of religion, race, or political persuasion. Our work is guided by Catholic values and it is based on the humanitarian principles of impartiality, independence and neutrality. We follow strict, internationally recognized guidelines for humanitarian aid, such as the Sphere Project, Core Humanitarian Standard, and the Code of Conduct of the International Red Cross.

Last year, Malteser International provided relief nearly 2 million people. For over 60 years, Malteser International (www.malteser-international.org) has been standing by those affected by poverty, disease, conflict and disaster, helping them lead a healthy life with dignity. Nearly 1,000 staff members work worldwide on 100 projects annually in 25 countries and they provide emergency relief after disasters, while helping people build better, healthier, and more sustainable lives.

Just over four years ago, Malteser International opened their Americas office in Miami. In 2017, the Americas office (www.orderofmaltarelief.org) moved the office to Manhattan to be alongside Cardinal Dolan in the Archdiocese of New York.
