EY’s latest 2014 India Attractiveness Survey released at Davos recently brought out that more than half of the 500+  respondents are keen to expand/enter India, with the majority seeking to tap the potential of the domestic market with manufacturing/services directed for the local market. The report also highlights that between 2007 and 2012, Western Europe was the single-highest region contributing to FDI, with a 40% share in 2012 alone. While UK and Germany have been the most prominent European investors, other countries, including France, Italy Switzerland are also significantly ramping up their investments in India.
While EY in India has had dedicated French and German Desks for over a decade, Marita’s presence will give the initiative a further boost. She will be part of a network of EY’s French and German Desks in countries across the world. Quote from Marita, “Helping our clients succeed in the emerging markets is a key aspect of EY’s vision for 2020. I am delighted to move to India to help French and German companies here.”
Marita will also play a role in strengthening EY’s diversity and inclusiveness agenda with a view to bringing together many different skills, experiences and perspectives of people from across the global organization.
Prior to moving to India, Marita worked as a Partner with the Transaction Advisory Services  in France, where she has spent a major part of her career, advising clients on strategic cross-border and domestic alliances. Marita joined EY’s Assurance practice in 1984 and has led large engagements with a clientele spanning across sectors, including aerospace and defense, industrial products and media and entertainment.
