About

May 12th International Awareness Day was first established in 1992. It was founded by the late Thomas J. Hennessy Jr. Worldwide there are over 20 million impacted by these illnesses. The economic impact is in the billions of dollars.

Our organization has taken up the cause and now actively promote the day. We assist by coordinating all world events and organizing events such at the annual International Light Up the Night Challenge. We supply materials to help individuals join the awareness raising effort.

We maintain a website (www.may12th.org), a Facebook page (www.facebook.com/may12th.awareness), a twitter account (@may12th), google+ (https://plus.google.com/107882427162930192613/posts) a YouTube channel (https://www.youtube.com/user/may12thawareness), Pinterest (https://www.pinterest.com/may12awareness/), Instagram (https://instagram.com/may12th.awareness/)  and several different Facebook event pages as required.

Two quotes that guide us are “Individually, we are one drop. Together, we are an ocean.” by RYUNOSAKO SATORO and "“Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much.” by HELEN KELLER

We believe everyone can help raise awareness by simply telling one other person about May 12th and asking that person to tell one other person.
