With 700 physicians, a staff of 1,700, the latest technology and one of Long Island’s newest hospital facilities, Mercy Medical Center in Rockville Centre, NY offers outstanding expertise in an environment dedicated to compassionate care.

Mercy is a 375-bed, not-for-profit hospital serving the health care needs of Nassau County and its surrounding area, with services ranging from maternal health, oncology and physical medicine to cardiology, rehabilitation, orthopedics, and behavioral health.

Founded nearly a century ago by the Sisters of the Congregation of the Infant Jesus, Mercy today provides a full range of medical and surgical services including 24-hour Emergency, Trauma and Express Care for adults and children. The hospital is a state-designated Stroke Center, and home to the only Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) on the south shore of Nassau County, supporting a mother-baby program that delivers 1,500 newborns each year.

The hospital’s diagnostic facilities include a state-of-the-art Cardiac Catheterization Lab, Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Computer Tomography (CT) Scanning, and a Women’s Imaging Center that offers new digital mammography and stereotactic breast biopsies for diagnosing breast cancer.

Mercy is a leader in weight-loss surgery, designated as a Bariatric Surgery Center of Excellence by the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery, and the recipient of the 2008/2009 Bariatric Surgery Excellence Award™ from HealthGrades®, the nation’s leading independent health care ratings company.

Mercy also has been named by HealthGrades as best hospital in Nassau County for Joint-Replacement Surgery 2009 and previously received the HealthGrades Orthopedic Care Excellence Award™ four years in a row.
