Molecular Synergy Nonprofit Design

Re-designing how people access the basic necessities of life

Molecular Synergy is a non-profit design company seeking to use modular growing systems to grow food, medicine, and bio-composite building materials to give people the basic necessities of life.  They also plan to re-cycle instead of buying new materials to help clean up the environment as well.

"The materials needed to make new things are already here.  We do not need to dig more up.  It is also viable for us as a nonprofit organization." Says Mathew M. M. Phillips, CEO of Molecular Synergy.

The system is said to be modular, reproducible and usable virtually anywhere in the world.  They plan to grow what is needed without using soil in aquaponic and organic hydroponic systems so even people in desert regions can have access to basic building blocks of life.

"In the system, we can grow soybeans, which have a high amount of protein and are very versatile in terms of the wide variety of foods that can be produced.  Did you know that there are herbal remedies such as the Fever Nut for Malaria?" Says Phillips.

They also plan to grow oil producing plants such as Canola to make plastic, and fibrous plants such as bamboo, Kenaf, and Flax to make textiles, then use the Bio-Plastic to make a bio-composite that can be made into virtually anything.

They say tha system could provide the basics to people who do not have access to food because of the cost of oil today, lack of natural resources, or lack of capital to pursue the traditional means of building a society.

"We're now offering Industrial design consultancy for businesses that desire more sustainable practises, reducing or eliminating waste, closing open open loops in production. reducing energy consumption, increasing sustainability, and/or lowering operating costs." Saya Phillips

They claim to be big on resource productivity--making resources do more of the work instead of making people do more of the work. The name "Molecular Synergy" comes from the idea of the molecules of the company, the products it produces, the users / consumers and the Earth acting in harmony or in a synergy with each other.
