About

Oakbio makes renewable chemicals and fuels from industrial waste gas using our patent pending microbial bioreactor systems. Our fourth generation approach to chemical manufacturing provides a cost effective method for production of petrochemical alternatives at large scale using captured CO2 from industrial waste gas. Our patent pending systems do not require biomass, can operate 24/7 in total darkness and can produce a much broader array of chemical products than competing technologies: bio-plastics, specialty chemicals, polymers, fuels, oils, pigments and more. This disruptive technology addresses key issues (size of facility, density of production, competition for food crops) which have impeded development of competing green solutions for economic reasons. By developing patent pending microbes which we have proven to thrive on actual untreated industrial flue gas, and which we have shown make valuable chemicals, we have addressed up front several of the issues which have led to technological failure of earlier approaches such as those which use algae. Oakbio is led by a seasoned team of scientists and business people and has a number of key partnerships with academia and industry. Currently we operate research and development facilities at our Sunnyvale California headquarters and on site at a large scale flue gas producing industrial partner.
