About

On My Own of Michigan, Inc.® assists adults with mild developmental disabilities to become independent, social and contributing members of the community.  We believe individuals living with developmental disabilities have the right to choose where they work, live, play and worship.  And, when given the opportunity, experience and appropriate supports, On My Own believes they can become active members of the community.

On My Own of Michigan, Inc.was established in 1997 as a private, nonprofit organization to help young adults transition from dependency to self sufficiency.  By providing guidance through all phases of this journey, OMO helps to cultivate self-esteem and self-reliance.  The establishment and enjoyment of relationships and friendships within this peer group is another facet of this program.  Members receive support, encouragement and participate in a variety of structured classes and social activities that promote growth and confidence.
