About

Marques The Writer is a Journalist, Freelance Writer, and Author with ten years professional writing experience. He began taking writing seriously entering his senior year of high school. Eager to gain experience, he became a reporter for his schools newspaper, Bruins 411. After only a few weeks, he became the senior editor due to his keen eye for grammatical errors, effective writing skills, and ability to adhere to strict deadlines.

In 2002, he self-published his first book, The Man Who Dared to Dream, which is a fictional book aimed towards teenagers, urging them to never give up-even when failure seems inevitable.

In 2005, Marques The Writer began freelance writing for: entertainers, small businesses, and publications. He got his feet in the door by seizing the opportunity to write for Underwire Interactive Magazine. His position as an interviewer allowed him to gain more experience; along with many mainstream hip-hop contacts. He conducted interviews for: Mr. Colipark, Chopper Young City, DJ Drama, and T-Pain to name a few. Even though he played a significant role in helping the new publication get off the ground, he wanted more. He accepted a new position as Lead Editor/Copy writer with Florida-based Entertainment Company, Mighty Dolla Entertainment.

By 2006, he gained consistent clientele based on his reputation for producing high-quality content with quick turnaround. He became the go-to guy for entertainers who needed press kits, bios, and/or press releases.

In 2009, he started the manuscript for his second book, Inside the Journey of Our Brothas. It addresses the 12 most prevalent issues concerning black men such as: education, religion, fatherhood, and greed. The book was completed early 2011.

The MC Publishing group recently released the new e-book by Marques The Writer, The Musicians Manual to Effective Media Coverage (Sept. 2012).
