About

Los Angeles- May 20th, 2014- Colorado raised, California residents Samantha and Tess Kennedy, the young designer sisters behind the innovative line of bullet jewelry known as Shield & Honor, have launched a crowdfunding campaign on Seedkicks to support their line through trade show efforts.  As is a challenge for all those in the merchandising world, the Kennedy sisters have yet to get their line in front of major retail buyers, and are using Seedkicks to help raise the $6000 required to exhibit at one of the major fashion trade shows of 2014.  Shield & Honor's campaign began on May 1st and will run until June 7th.

Over the past year, Shield & Honor has exhibited at two trade shows for emerging designers including the POOLTRADESHOW at MAGIC Market Week and COEUR Show LA, and has received major accolades from various fashion sites, buyers and bloggers.    InStyle Magazine, fashion community SocialBliss and online retailer RedEnvelope have all embraced Shield & Honor's dazzling, one-of-a-kind pieces.

Since debuting the original design in 2012, the Kennedys have worked tirelessly to imagine, produce and deliver a line of jewelry that is as unique as it is beautiful.  Born out of remembrance of their World War II veteran grandfather who passed away a few years ago, Shield & Honor features intricate, hand carved designs centered around real, empty bullet casings.   Each piece is designed and manufactured in California using 18K Gold and Sterling Silver.  Shield & Honor's most recent line, the Symphony Collection, brings together the original design with higher quality, upmarket materials for buyers who are looking for an elegant and resilient product.  “The Symphony collection is the coming together of our original product with exclusive elements such as Italian metals and Swarovski crystals,” reflects older sister Samantha.  “On a deeper level, the line represents a physical manifestation of all of the triumphs, difficulties, inspirations, and ambitions that have accompanied us on this journey so far.”

Bright, ambitious, independent, and pioneering, the Kennedys are part of a generation of young entrepreneurs who are embracing charity as part of their business.  A portion of the proceeds from each piece is donated to the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund to help support Veterans, War Heroes and their families.  The necklaces are currently available for purchase on Shield & Honor's website, RedEnvelope, Lilli & Tori, Coquette Couture and several other retailers.
