Soul Friends is a nonprofit established in 2003 and has provided clinical animal assisted therapy to over 10,000 children and families across CT.  In partnership with a variety of therapy animals including dogs, rabbits, guinea pigs, goats, chickens, pigs, donkeys and horses - Soul Friends clinicians have created trauma and attachment informed programs to meet the mental health needs of many.  They have created the first in the country equine assisted therapy program to improve parent-child connection for veteran and first responder families, presenting on its positive outcomes at several national and international conferences.  Additionally, the have a peer reviewed journal article on a yearlong humane education study in partnership with the ASPCA of NY City.
