Three of Stanford's seven schools offer undergraduate and graduate programs: Earth Sciences, Engineering and Humanities and Sciences. The other four schools offer graduate programs: Business, Education, Law and Medicine.

The Stanford undergraduate degree program is designed to achieve balance between depth of knowledge acquired through specialization and breadth of knowledge gained through exploration. Nearly 8,000 students in 63 departments and programs are currently pursuing graduate degrees at Stanford.

The Stanford Center for Professional Development provides degree and non-degree distance-learning courses. The Graduate School of Business and Law School offer executive education. Summer Session provides high school, undergraduate, and graduate students unique access to Stanford's outstanding faculty.
