Kathalaya is an organization with a vision to establish Storytelling as an effective tool in Education and Culture. It has been successfully integrating Storytelling into school curricula through children’s workshops, teacher training programs and performances both in India and abroad since 1998.
Using the techniques of narration, story reading, picture stories, toy theatres, clay modeling, puppetry, shadow play, role play and craft, Kathalaya has been able to include storytelling as a teaching methodology in urban and rural schools. Kathalaya uses Storytelling in conducting Corporate Training workshops too.
Following the success in over 50 schools in Bangalore, Kathalaya launches its Chennai operations in April 2009. With this, Kathalaya plans to take Storytelling to the next level by spreading the influence of stories in Chennai schools.
Kathalaya also conducts Certificate courses in Storytelling for teachers, parents, children and just about anyone who is interested in the art form. Its vision is to establish an international Storytelling institute to promote research and training in the field of Storytelling.
