About

THE GIPPER'S GHOST: A Story of the Spirit of Notre Dame is a book by Robert A. Quakenbush that was first published in 1985 and is now available as an eBook in and Amazon Kindle Edition in the Amazon Kindle Store.

Although the fictional story was written more than a quarter of a century ago, THE GIPPER'S GHOST has been amazingly prophetic about Notre Dame football, and many Notre Dame football fans have noticed some very interesting things happened after the book was published.

The book introduced the Ten Commandments of Notre Dame.  In the book, the most important is the Tenth Commandment of Notre Dame: Thou shalt never lose to USC.   Interestingly enough, after the book was published and while it remained in print, Notre Dame didn’t lose to USC for more than a decade!

The other is the name of the coach.  In THE GIPPER’S GHOST, the name of the head football coach who (with the help of divine intervention) leads the Fighting Irish to the national championship is COACH KELLY.

A coincidence?

Or an amazing prophecy?

One more interesting coincidence. In the epilog to THE GIPPER’S GHOST, Notre Dame defeats an SEC team to win the national championship. Yet another prophecy soon to come true?  Perhaps as soon as January 7, 2013?

Go Irish!
