About

“Tim the Barber” does not just cut hair. For men in St. Petersburg, he is more than a barber... he is their friend.

Tim the Barber makes a lot of friends.

He gives his friends and customers what they want—beautiful women, great haircuts at the best price and a reason to feel good. He also gives back to the community he loves...

In the years since a young Tim the Barber opened shop in the lobby of the historic Pennsylvania hotel, he has given the men of St. Petersburg more than just a way to look their best. Tim the Barber is an essential member of the community, an active part of what makes the city of St. Pete great.

Tim the Barber is very proud of his community. He has always given back to the people of St. Pete, the people who supported him for over 13 years. Tim is very active in the community, donating his time and talent to charities. For Pinellas Hope, Tim gave free haircuts to the homeless. He also gives his time for All Children’s Hospital.
Tim is most proud of his work for the St. Baldrick’s Children’s Cancer Fundraiser, which he has supported for years. St. Baldrick’s leads the fight against childhood cancer.

In 2007, Tim raised over $6,000 for St. Baldrick’s. In 2008, the amount he collected rose to $16,000. In 2009, Tim the Barber raised an amazing $26,000. So far, in 2010, Tim’s Barbershop has raised over $16,000!

Tim believes in working hard seven days a week to give every one of his clients quality styling at the best prices. To show how much he cares, Tim hasn’t raised prices in over eight years! A haircut by Tim the Barber is the best deal in town.

One of his greatest experiences was when Tim and his customers raised $1,500 for the Steven Holmes Memorial Trust Fund. A co-worker murdered Holmes in a local restaurant, leaving behind Holmes’ wife Jennifer and a young son Michael.

According to Tim the Barber, the Steven Holmes Memorial Trust Fund was a time where St. Pete really showed its heart. The outpouring of sympathy and support showed what a great town St. Pete really is.

Tim’s impact on St. Pete really began when he moved to 9th Street North, around 25th Ave. The Pennsylvania Hotel was under renovation, and the new plans left little room for Tim’s popular barbershop.

On 9th Street North, Tim the Barber had found the perfect place for his popular business. It had a great parking lot in the back, and an area where he could put a large lighted sign. All it needed was a little remodeling.

This was Tim the Barber’s moment to shine!

Tim’s dream was to bring the nostalgic look of the Pennsylvania Hotel to the new shop.

Tim wanted the feel of an old-time barbershop. Filling his new shop with antiques, Tim specially chose every piece to give visitors the true experience of a business that was over 80 years old.

Vintage barber chairs are from 1926, as well as barber poles that sit in front of the shop on 9th Street. The retro look continues with a Coke machine and a pay phone—both from the 1940’s.

Tim the Barber believes that when a man comes into his barbershop, he should feel like he stepped back in time. His goal was for his customers to feel a bit of history.

Anyone who enters Tim’s shop will agree—he succeeded.

“On behalf of Tim’s Barbershop, I would like to thank you for bringing your business to our establishment. You have supported us for 13 years, and I look forward to serving you and your friends for many years to come. We appreciate your business. Take care of yourself and God bless”—Tim the Barber.
