About

UAS Development was founded to conduct research in the unnamed aerial vehicle market. Our interest is in developing mission specific UAVs to service commercial and industrial applications of remote imaging and data collection from light weight and cost affective platforms. Our initial market focus is in aerial cinematography and video production, making use of high definition production grade digital cameras systems, with an emphasis on integration of similar camera capabilities into remotely controlled gimbal with robust stabilization and operating capacities. We integrated technologies to compose a heavy-lift airframe and payload management configuration that provides our end users with the ability to run camera kits up to 20lbs. for 10-15 minute intervals. These mission parameters are compliant with current production industry needs and exceed the quality and capabilities of smaller UAV systems that employ minimalist camera platforms.

Our proprietary flight configuration and payload capacity lends itself to a wide variety of alternative applications including: Thermal imaging, GIS mapping, bio-chem & composite spectrometry, remote sensor data acquisition and video/photography recording. UAS Development is building collaborative relationships with a variety of sensor manufacturers with the intention of delivering robust data acquisition configurations to satisfy a diverse range of mission parameters and program initiatives.

In March of 2015, UAS Development filed a petition through their legal counsel, Mintz Levin, with the Federal Aviation Administration seeking relief from numerous regulatory restrictions prohibiting commercial use of UAVs under Section 333 of the FAA Modernization and Reform Act of 2012.  On Aug 14th, 2015, UAS Development was granted these exemptions and authorization from the FAA to conduct commercial operations using their UAVs. This authorization, along with a standing nationwide Certificate of Authorization, permits UAS Development to offer its services for hire to any organization or individual who are interested in using UAV technology to conduct commercial productions or other data collection.

UAS Development's authorization covers its proprietary heavy-lift UAV as well as the Solo ® UAV, manufactured by 3D Robotics. The Solo ® will allow UAS Development to conduct smaller scale projects for client’s with more modest needs and requirements. UAS Development will be seeking authorization for additional vehicles as market demand is defined.

UAS Development has demonstrated their system and operating standards to a wide variety of industry participants including regional film & television producers, advertising and content production providers, robotics and autonomous vehicle industry participants and government agencies & representatives.
