About

Since our founding, continuous research, development, testing and experimenting have been foundational to our success. Early research efforts came to fruition in 1996 when ACE formulated the world’s first multi-ply bullet and bomb-resistant security laminate, a feat the largest industry players in the world said “couldn’t be done”.

Success in the domestic Canadian and North American market resulted following this technical break-through by ACE. Despite intense criticism from the window tint and film industry, the company quickly established itself as the industry leader in the glass security laminate industry, developing a marquee clientele of government agencies, law enforcement agencies, public facilities and leading corporations. With its strategy of rapid-prototyping and ongoing product testing, ACE filed with the United States Patent and Trademark Office under registration No # 2,954,729.

Propelled by this success, the company issued an Initial Public Offering on the Toronto Stock Exchange in 2004. following profound disagreements with the Board over strategic direction, ACE was re-privatized by its founder, Peter Fabian, in 2007.

The right product at the right time

During the last 15 years, governments and leaders worldwide have had to face the reality of growing threats to physical security. Incidents such as the bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City and The World Trade Center bombing in New York City have provided vivid examples of how vulnerable our physical security can be. According to studies, in an attack using explosives in an urban area, over 80% of all secondary blast injuries are caused by flying glass. By strengthening building glazing systems, ACE laminates remove one of the most potent weapons in the arsenal of terrorists.

In 2011, as civil unrest broke out around the world as a result of global economic uncertainty, ACE armed homeowners and business owners with the strongest window security laminate in the world as a means of protecting their property and families.

In 2012, ACE operates in over 40 countries around the world. The company continues to lead the industry in innovation, influencing the next-generation of building security by being an active member and contributor to the Canadian Standard Association’s Technical Committee on Blast Resistant Buildings (CSA A279TC).
