About

Louie Nepomuceno, or “Uncle Louie”, has been cooking since 1974, when he found himself alone in New York City, missing his mother’s cooking. His first challenge was replicating the Filipino sinigang, a sour tamarind stew- without a tamarind in sight!

Since then, he’s developed a near obsessive love of food and cooking, and joyfully experiments with different flavors in unique combinations in the “kitchen of his mind”.

A native Filipino, Uncle Louie’s food is best described as a combination of Asian and Spanish cooking techniques and flavors, heavily influenced by Chinese cuisine.

“Making people happy with food makes me happy,” he says.
