About

Valley View Community Food Bank was founded in March 2007 by Jesse Ramirez. Jesse served at the West Side Food Bank in Surprise, AZ for 21 years before starting Valley View Community Food Bank. After seeing a greater need in his community, Jesse wanted to help those in his surrounding area by creating a Food Bank that welcomed it's community with open doors.

The Food Bank was originally started in a Sun City location that was 500 square feet and had 3 volunteers.  They've grown and operated successfully and in 2012 Valley View moved it's operation to a 64,000 square foot building where it now serves 264,000 families and is supported by over 760 volunteers. The Food Bank currently gives over 13,200,000 lbs of shelf stable food and 14,437,000 lbs of fresh produce to those in need.
