About

Terri Whitmire is a faith-based author who enjoys keeping her readers on the edge of their seats. Prior to writing her debut novel in 2011, she wrote for a variety of industries including but not limited to: Fortune 500 corporations, educational organizations, and religious institutions.

Terri is the owner of Fun Creative Writing, where she dances, wiggles, sings, and acts, all in an attempt to teach creative writing in a fun, cool way. Several of her students have become published authors as a result of enrolling in her classes. She looks forward to expanding this program nationwide. Terri routinely volunteers her services to nonprofit organizations.

Terri currently lives in Marietta, Georgia with her oh-so-patient and supportive husband, Will, and their three angelic children. She is originally from Waterbury, Connecticut, a small colonial town with big dreams. She attended North Carolina A&T State University where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science. After working in this industry for over fifteen years, she abandoned this career in pursuit of bigger dreams. She earned her certification in children's literature and wrote her first collection of children’s stories. In 2010, her short story The Crooked Path was featured in the Trillium Literary Journal. In 2012, she was recognized as one of the top fifty emerging authors by Urban Book Source.

Her first novel, Breathe for Me, was released in 2011. She continued the saga of Tara and Marcus, and soon released the second book in the series, entitled My Next Breath. In 2012, the suspenseful spy novel, Walking in His Shadow was released, followed by her latest book and first nonfiction work, Excuse You: Hiccups, Setbacks, and Other Interruptions.

Terri enjoys traveling, spending time with family and friends, Zumba, hiking, and a good day at the spa. It is her hope that her words reach the hearts of many.
