About

http://www.AccentHelp.com began offering dialect training online in 2006, provided accent training materials through instantly downloadable files.  The accent materials have been tested on hundreds of actors to fine-tune the training.  Each download contains a handbook that teaches the accent, recordings of a professional dialect coach teaching the accent, and multiple recordings of authentic native speakers of the accent, along with transcriptions of their conversations so that actors can follow along.

AccentHelp's materials are created by Jim Johnson, Kate DeVore and Michelle Lopez-Rios, all professional dialect coaches and all university professors.  Jim Johnson teaches at the University of Houston, Kate DeVore is a Speech-Language Pathologist in Chicago, and Michelle Lopez-Rios is on the faculty at the University of Wisconsin in Milwaukee.

Currently, AccentHelp offers over 25 accents, including some of the most standard fare - such as Cockney, New York, Standard British - and much more obscure accents - such as Cajun, Welsh, New Orleans, and New York Latino.
