About

Active Healthcare is a premier, community-minded provider of medical equipment; passionately dedicated to the care and quality of life of our patients and customers.  We specialize in CPAP products to treat patients with obstructive sleep apnea and respiratory nebulizers for patients with asthma.

The company has served the Triangle area of North Carolina since 1990. Along with our corporate office located in North Raleigh, Active Healthcare has three satellite offices to serve our customers. Offices are located in Cary at Regency Park, in Durham/Chapel Hill at University Towers, and in Clayton off US-70 W.

Founder Lisa Feierstein, RN, BSN, MBA, has been serving the medical community for more than 25 years in hospital, out-patient and home-care settings.
In August 2009, Lisa Feierstein, President of Active Healthcare, received a 2009 Women in Business award from the Triangle Business Journal.   These awards recognize the top 26 dynamic and outstanding women leaders in our community.   She has been recognized for her tremendous community service contributions in support of Urban Ministries of Wake County’s Open Door Clinic and the Wake County Asthma Coalition.   She has also been featured in “Celebrate Nursing 2008” in the News and Observer which recognized outstanding registered nurses that have made a difference in the lives of their patients.

Active Healthcare has ongoing partnerships with Urban Ministries of Wake County Open Door Clinic and Project Access in Durham, Wake and Johnston Counties to provide medical equipment to the uninsured and indigent people in our community who need treatment for Obstructive Sleep Apnea and Asthma.  We collect and refurbish used CPAP equipment and Nebulizers for donation to patients of the clinics and our most needy residents.   Active Healthcare provides free training to these patients.

Active Healthcare recently completed its fourth re-accreditation from the Accreditation Commission for Healthcare (ACHC).   Accreditation consists of a professional peer review requiring higher standards than state or federal requirements.  Active Healthcare has voluntary participated in the accreditation process for the past twelve years.   Accreditation is now mandatory for Home Health agencies, Hospices, and Durable Medical Equipment Suppliers that participate in the Medicare program.
