This program is not a basic terrorism awareness program but rather a customized program to assist in identifying potential terrorist activities that are hidden in plain sight. Both domestic and international terrorist operations will be examined. Admiral Michael McConnell, the former Director of National Intelligence stated “I worry that there are sleeper cells in the United States.” Sleeper cells of terrorist that have entered the United States and are hidden in plain sight pose a grave danger. The Virginia Jihadists, the Lackawanna Six and even domestic terrorist Eric Robert Rudolph are just a few examples of terrorists who were here in the United States hiding.

Countering Insurgency in Complex Environments (6 days) - The AGI training team has worked for the Pres of AGI for up to 8 years, delivering exceptional insight into the nature of the challenge of counter insurgency and how to counter it.  One team member introduced the phrase that, in this field of operations, ‘it is no longer sufficient to KNOW the enemy, we must UNDERSTAND the enemy’.  To this effect, the Course is run as an ‘immersion course’, with students abandoning their real world identities, norms of behaviour and terms of reference and uniquely living the life of an insurgent in a training camp. The six day Countering Insurgency in Complex Environments Course will afford students exceptional insight into the origins and motivations of insurgencies in the current major areas of US/international coalition deployment; explaining the crucial differences between those pertaining to the core, the ideologue, and the majority of those who take the filed in their name.  The Course will highlight the essential requirement to understand and operate within the complex environments into which students will deploy including, crucially, the so-called ‘human terrain’; the people, the prize.
