He received his undergraduate degree from Princeton University in New Jersey in 1958 and his M.D. from the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York in 1962.

Dr. Winslow interned in general surgery at the Yale-New Haven Medical Center in Connecticut, where he was also an assistant resident. He was both an assistant and chief resident in general surgery at Dartmouth Affiliate Hospitals in New Hampshire. Dr. Winslow completed a residency in plastic surgery at Temple University Hospital in Pennsylvania in 1971.

Dr. Winslow regularly undertakes continuing education in order to stay abreast of new developments in plastic surgery.

Dr. Robert Winslow's impressive surgical expertise is founded on over 35 years of experience at leading hospitals and academic institutions around the United States. After completing his medical training in 1971, Dr. Winslow began work as a surgeon at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine. He has since worked as a surgeon at Watts Hospital, Rex Hospital, Wake County Medical Center, Blue Ridge Ambulatory Surgery, and Raleigh Community Hospital, all in North Carolina.

During the same period, Dr. Winslow served as a professor in various positions at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine from 1971 to 1993, as a visiting professor at Good Samaritan Hospital in Phoenix, Arizona in 1975, and as a consultant at Dorothea Dix Hospital in Raleigh, North Carolina from 1976 to 1983.

Dr. Winslow moved to California in 1994, where he worked at Barton Memorial Hospital in South Lake Tahoe until 1998. He is currently affiliated with Mercy Hospital, Folsom. He runs his own JHACO Accredited office-based surgery center in Folsom. His surgical suite is one of only a few accredited office-based surgery locations in the Sacramento region.

Dr. Robert Winslow is a double-board-certified plastic surgeon with extensive specific expertise and training in cosmetic surgery. He is a diplomate of the National Board of Medical Examiners (1963), the American Board of Surgery (1970), and the American Board of Plastic Surgery (1972).

Dr. Winslow's pioneering work as a plastic surgeon has earned him numerous awards. He won First Prize at the Robert H. Ivy Society in both 1970 and 1971 and First Prize in Category at the Plastic Surgery Residents Conference in 1971, and he was awarded a research grant from the Educational Foundation of the American Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons in 1973.
