Founded in 2011 and headquartered north of the border in Kitchener, Ontario (internationally known for the biggest Oktoberfest celebration in North America), Barbed Arrow is a fledgling independent developer and publisher of multi-platform online titles.

The approach the Barbed Arrow team is taking towards game design is focused on innovative concepts related to online social dynamics and player interaction – we don’t want to “think outside the box,” we’re more likely to run over “the box” and then light it on fire.  What that translates to is spending a lot of time, effort, and beer understanding what makes players “tick” – motivations, community building, conflict and collaboration. Barbed Arrow is committed to those being the keys to develop lasting and addictive games and associated communities.

The Barbed Arrow team comes from a diverse mix of backgrounds in senior business management (suits) to typical IT-geek roles. Uniquely, the team was formed around a shared interest passion related to social dynamics, teamwork theory, conflict benefit, and interpersonal relationships that form in today’s online games… rather than simply a drive to “make a damn game.”
