About

Bobby Kearan is the Reform Party Candidate for Governor of Mississippi in 2011.

Activist Bobby Kearan has formally announced his intention to run for Governor of Mississippi. The 39 year-old Reform Party candidate recently assured his growing base of supporters that he plans on turning the 2011 Gubernatorial election into a three-way race.
During a Reform Party teleconference, Kearan informed his supporters that after months of consideration he has decided to launch a grassroots campaign to become Mississippi’s Chief Executive. The gubernatorial hopeful has spent the past several weeks talking with voters around the state, many of whom expressed interest in a seeing a viable third party candidate enter the fray.
Kearan assured his growing base of volunteers that he is that candidate. He promised to think outside of the box and bring an end to “politics as usual,” noting that he wants “real solutions” to the state’s current economic and social woes.  “I believe Mississippi can do better than we are right now,” said Kearan. “Many policies we are following now are doing more harm than good. I want to see real solutions to the issues facing our state - not politics mired in ideology. All we have seen from the establishment is the same politics that have gotten us into the mess we are in!”
Voters will likely remember that the Reform Party “shocked the world” in 1999 when Jesse Ventura was elected Governor of Minnesota. The party’s unexpected victory was considered among the biggest political upsets in recent American history; it solidified the Reform Party’s reputation as a political underdog to be reckoned with.
During a recent conversation with several out of state campaign advisers, Kearan expressed his desire to replicate Ventura’s success. He stated that he plans on publicly debating his Republican and Democratic opponents before the General Election, and assured Reform Party leadership that more voters will recognize the importance of a political alternative once his message reaches the masses. He stated that anyone interested in seeing exactly what his ideas are for Mississippi should check him out online. “I want a continuing conversation with Mississippians from all over the State. This is not going to be a standard campaign,” he continued.  “I work 40 hours a week.  I can't be traveling all over the state going to events.  This is going to be a campaign of ideas, new media and a grassroots movement of Mississippians.  We are tired of elected officials who do not represent us.”
Kearan's campaign is currently organizing volunteers across the state, and is currently seeking interested voters and organizers in each of Mississippi’s 82 counties.
