CAG began in 2007 when three angry housewives fought back against the Deschutes County government over one-sized-fits-all solutions to ground water issues in the South Deschutes County. CAG members, many retirees, include the gamut of occupations and political perspectives, from liberal to conservative, have had an outsized impact on issues in South Deschutes County. CAG is a volunteer-driven non-profit organization (501 (c) 4) created to encourage active participation in all aspects of community development and community decision-making in Deschutes County.
