Dr. Stephanie Weiland Knarr is a nationally known relationship expert. Stephanie provides keynotes, motivational speeches, and seminars for couples, families, business and government audiences. Quoted in Forbes, Time, and MSN, Dr. Stephanie provides expertise regarding communication, conflict resolution, and interpersonal relationships both at home and in the workplace. Stephanie has extensive history providing employee assistance counseling and workplace seminars in the Baltimore Washington region.

Stephanie is the owner of a popular private practice in Laurel, MD. She has been practicing as a marriage and family therapist since 1999, and she has received cutting edge marriage communication training from the renowned Gottman Institute. Dr. Stephanie has been featured as an expert on local radio shows, and she authored a book with her husband Brendan Knarr, a successful sales manager. She copyrighted the concept of having a “Relationship Repair Counter” for workplace, marriage, and family relationships. She is her own success in small business, receiving the 2014 and 2013 Best of Laurel Award for her Small Business Success and Marketing Strategies.

Dr. Stephanie’s passions are marriage success, success in child rearing, and success in business. Raised on a Nebraska farm as the oldest of five children, she attributes her strong work ethic to life growing up on the farm. She is no stranger to adversity and attributes her accomplishments to the hard work and perseverance she learned from her own family upbringing. Dr. Stephanie’s parents started a successful manufacturing company Weiland Doors, and they role modeled an entrepreneurial spirit that she carries with her to this day. Dr. Stephanie has been assisting children, adolescents, and families since she started her clinical training as a marriage and family therapist in 1997 at Colorado State University. Her graduate internships were at youth and family programs such as Youth Alternatives in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Later, during her family therapy Ph.D. training at St. Mary’s University of San Antonio, Texas she worked with children and families at schools, a Head Start Program, taught child development classes through Smart Start of San Antonio, and assisted children and families in foster care. Moreover, she was responsible for helping to start the first child therapy program at the Rape Crisis Center of San Antonio, Texas in 2000. Her Ph.D. research was focused on marriage and relationship therapy for victims of sexual assault. Dr. Weiland Knarr has also taught as an adjunct professor in psychology at St. Mary’s University and in family studies at University of Maryland College Park.

Currently, Dr. Stephanie lives with husband and business man Brendan Knarr in Laurel, MD raising three children, Rachel, Luke, and Gavin. Besides running her therapy practice and co-running her family organization with Brendan, Dr. Stephanie speaks, makes media appearances, and is an author of Relationship Repair for Couples.
