About

The Faith Center for Community Wellness and Advancement, endeavors to effectively address various needs in the Southwest Baltimore community and selected areas beyond. We seek to provide health education screenings, and meet the basic health care needs of those who would not otherwise seek medical attention. We also seek to provide assistance to those striving to overcome substance, emotional, and or physical abuse; and persons who are in in housing or job transition. The "Faith Center" also seeks to provide tutoring, mentoring, and recreational activities for children in the area.

The means of addressing those needs of residents includes, but is not limited to educational endeavors such as workshops, seminars, referrals, and the distribution of iiterature; supportive intervention through group activities and individual contact.

Prevention activities include partnerships with other service organizations, emergency assistance with food and other emergency agencies, medical supplies, clothing; job referrals, and similar referrals to other organizations for specialized assistance. It is our goal to assist persons in becoming independent, self-sufficient, viable and contributing members of society.
