About

The Fetch Foundation is a non-profit organization to help your community’s pets in an emergency. The Fetch Foundation is a unique 501c3 non-profit organization creating programs that save pets lives. Through love and commitment to animals in need through emergencies, rescue, fostering, specialized training and placement throughout the United States The Fetch Foundation saves lives with our programs. How it began…
For many years, all of us at The fetch Foundation had worked closely with animal rescues and their volunteers. Through our work in fostering and pet rescue, we came in contact with many special needs pets. While we considered every pet as being special, The fetch Foundation holds a soft spot for injured, sick, and homeless pets that have needs only the kindest of hearts may cure. Many of these pets are found through public works departments in cases of hoarding, neglect, house fires, car accidents and abandonment. Working with local fire departments and pet rescues, we have found an innovative way to assist these public servants in creating a way to help these pets immediately at the point of rescue. Our main objective is The FIDO BAG© Program. Each year in the United States an estimated half a million pets are affected by fires. More than 40,000 of our family pets die from smoke inhalation alone. Once firefighters secure the family from danger, what happens to your four-legged family members? After much investigation, we found out that the First Responders priorities in an emergency are PEOPLE, PETS, and PROPERTY in that order! Fire departments that have received our FIDO BAGs© and the training now feel confident they have the tools to give our pets the best chance of survival in these emergencies.
YOU are the key to The FIDO BAG© Program’s success. By sponsoring a fire department, a FIDO BAG©, or simple donation we can supply your local fire departments with these life saving tools that may one day save YOUR best friends life! With your help in supporting The FIDO BAG© Program’s initiative, fire departments can immediately treat pets with smoke inhalation and injuries.
How do we get The FIDO BAG into the hands of FIRST RESPONDERS?

Our Pets to Vets program networks with rescues, shelters and Veteran agencies along with other non-profits to find and evaluate canine candidates that would assist a veterans overcome Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, provide companionship or in some cases assist with certain tasks needed on a day to day basis. Once identified, The fetch Foundation evaluates these dogs and through our network we place them in a loving home with a Military Veteran who will as part of the healing process attend classes and train their new forever friend.
Our Search and Rescue program is always working with rescues and shelters looking for dogs with certain temperaments and personality traits that may be candidates for Search and Rescue work. Once identified The fetch Foundation evaluates these dogs and trains them for the demanding job of rescue worker! K9 Search and Rescue Units all over the country have helped during the Sept 11 crisis and the Katrina and Rita catastrophes. Some of these same units were from your local community here in Arizona. With the help of local FEMA team, trainer JR Cook of Scottsdale K9 Academy and Best Friends Animal Society, The fetch Foundation is evaluating homeless dogs to become potential candidates for placement with handlers for Search and Rescue programs and Service programs.
Our vision is to have a FIDO BAG© on every fire truck in the country starting here in your community. To achieve this vision, we are offering a unique opportunity in allowing individuals and corporations to sponsor a FIDO BAG© in their name. The fetch Foundation also allows for you to be involved in your community’s SEARCH and RESCUE and “Homeless to Heroes” efforts through donations to help homeless pets become valued search and service partners.
