Fly casting and Fly fishing instruction please visit my web site at www.flystiles.com for complete bio and all I offerJanuary 10, 2013 – Richmond, VA – Andrea Rowse stands, fly rod in hand, ready to cast and waiting for her instructor to tell her what to do next. But, her instructor, certified casting instructor Andrew Stiles, isn’t standing next to her in the traditional manner, but teaches from Smith’s computer screen. Smith lives in Sunset Beach, FL ; Stiles teaches from Richmond.
“Fishing began as a hobby for me,” said Stiles, “and it led to my passion, teaching.” He was the first instructor to offer fly casting lessons at John Tyler Community College and Randolph Macon College, where he has been teaching for the past four years. . He has taught hundreds  the art of fly tying, casting, and fishing through his association with Living Social and Groupon.
Creating lessons on Skype seemed a natural progression of his teaching. “I wanted to be able to share fly fishing with those who may not have access to lessons in their community,” he explained. “You can learn how to do almost anything by watching Internet videos; Skype does the same thing, only adding a real-time, personal element. Students can ask questions and get immediate response. Problems can be fixed on the spot and students can see live demonstrations.”
Count Smith among those sold on Stiles' tech savvy technique.
“Using Skype, I get the benefit of one-on-one instruction without having to travel to get it,” said Smith.  “Lessons with Andrew on Skype are convenient, personal, and affordable.”
Stiles is certified in casting instruction from the national Federation of Fly Fishers. On the international level, he holds certifications from the European Conclave and the Danish Fly Fishing Federation. According to Stiles, “Anticipating a strike with a dry fly is the most exhilarating experience. It’s a collision of art and science created to fool Mother Nature. My job is to share this special connection with others.”
