About

HAI is a non-profit arts and social service organization that was founded in 1969 to inspire healing, growth and learning through engagement in the arts for the culturally underserved.

Each year, HAI touches the lives of more than 350,000 people in the New York City community whose access to the arts has been limited by health, age or income. HAI makes access to music, dance, theater and the visual arts possible by partnering with numerous cultural organizations, government officials and agencies and foundations and individuals. HAI serves K-12 students, seniors, the frail elderly, people with mental and physical disabilities and seriously ill children at health and social service facilities throughout all five boroughs of New York City.
