About

Hal's Harley-Davidson®started out in 1959 as J&S Cycles in West Allis, Wisconsin. Originally owned by John and Sharon Sekulich, it earned a reputation for service excellence. The business grew, and by 1965 had moved to New Berlin. In 1978, which was the Motor Company's 75th Anniversary year, Hal Topel acquired the dealership and changed its name to Hal's Harley-Davidson®.

Born in Kenosha, Wisconsin, Hal grew up on his grandfather Earl's Nash-Rambler dealership where he learned the operations side of the business. Hal has always been a motorcycle enthusiast and in the late '50s enjoyed sport riding, scramble racing and selling Triumph and BSA motorcycles part time on evenings and weekends. By the mid '70s, Hal's son, Kirk, was sharing his father's love of motorcycles. The two rode on weekends, attending the many dirt track races held throughout the Midwest. These weekend rides were the seed that ultimately grew into what is now Hal's Harley-Davidson®.

What made Hal and Kirk successful in the early years and lives on today is their strong desire to satisfy customer wishes. Rooted in the "service first" philosophy begun by J&S Cycles, Hal's Harley-Davidson®remains an active place where customers don't just become friends but are part of the family.

The "Hal's" philosophy can be seen in our knowledgeable staff, dedicated to our brand and our promise of providing convenient, quality service so our customers can simply enjoy the ride. Hal's is a full service dealership and accommodates the whole family, from MotorClothes® Merchandise & Collectibles, Parts & Accessories, Authorized Harley-Davidson® rentals and of course new and pre-owned motorcycles. We want to be your preferred motorcycle resource.

For individuals looking to get into the sport of motorcycling and learn to ride, we offer Harley-Davidson® Riding Academy®, a beginner motorcycle safety training course. We also host activities throughout the year that educate the community about motorcycling.

Harley-Davidson® riders have heart. They help each other and those around them and Hal's is proud to be involved with outreach programs that give back to the community. We host open houses and sponsor activities to call attention to those less fortunate throughout the year. Many can be discovered in our yearly Events Calendar and the Community Outreach section on this website.

Hal's isn't just a team, we are a family and you are always a welcome member. The invitation will always be open; the coffee is always on.
