HARC (Health Assessment Resource Center) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization located in Palm Desert, CA.  HARC is dedicated to providing objective, reliable research, analysis, and technical services to communities in order to facilitate better decision-making regarding health and quality of life.  

HARC conducts a triennial random-digit-dial (RDD) telephone health survey of more than three thousand households in Eastern Riverside County.  Respondents are queried on a wide array of medical and wellness-related issues, including healthcare coverage, healthcare utilization, mental illness, major diseases, nutrition, fitness, and more.  These findings provide unbiased, statistically reliable data on a multitude of health conditions across a region stretching from Calimesa to Blythe.  

HARC is also available for conduct custom research services for other organizations.  Our capabilities include process evaluation, outcome evaluation, and logic model development, among others.  

Our data is utilized by other local non-profits, colleges and universities, state, county, and city governments, healthcare organizations, and private businesses, among others.  HARC data has helped support many grant proposals and other funding requests.  To date, organizations have received over $4.5 million in funding from proposals supported by HARC data.  However, grant proposals are not the only use for HARC data.  Our users report leveraging HARC data for strategic planning, program development, program evaluation, in-house training, and policy development.
