The Strive For Life Foundation was founded in early 2007 to help change the lives of the forgotten children of Romania. The crisis faced there has been relatively unseen in the media since the very early 1990's, after the fall of communism. The issue remains today - children living in the streets, sewers and underground railways, fighting off cold, hunger, disease, and those who would exploit them. Sexual trafficking is common, and drug use is rampant (primarily the easy & cheap to obtain Aurolac, a paint thinner). Strive For Life aims to provide warm clothing, food, medical attention and shelter to these children. This nonprofit organization also will be working within the existing institutions which are ill-equipped to handle the large number of poverty-stricken homeless and special needs children.
