About

Conveniently located on the picturesque Victoria Harbour at Central Pier No. 8, the Hong Kong Maritime Museum (HKMM), founded in 2003, is a non-profit, registered charity supported by the shipping industry, other companies and organisations, and the Hong Kong Government.  It houses more than 5,000 artefacts, 15 galleries including a special exhibitions & events space, a resource centre, a roof-top café, a gift shop and a nautical antique gallery.

The Museum promotes Hong Kong’s maritime history and heritage in a local, regional and international context. It also focuses on Hong Kong and the Pearl River Delta’s maritime connections to the world, particularly the development of Hong Kong as an international port and shipping hub.

HKMM provides visitors with a variety of public programmes including guided tours, workshops, public talks, school, community and family activities.  For more information, please visit www.hkmaritimemuseum.org.
