About

The death of Australian batsman Phillip Hughes has put the whole cricket world into shock. The helmet he was wearing was not protecting his whole skull base. Darryn Randall (South Africa) & George Summers (Nottinghamshire) first-class cricketers were also victims of fatal incidents due to unsafe helmets. We have also witnessed the death of Alcwys Jenkins while umpiring and Indian player Raman Lamba while fielding.
Cricket helmets are inadequate for the kind of pressure they get from average fast delivery at a range of 85-95 mph. When manufacturers of the helmet were asked about the tragedy, they said Hughes accident was unusual and no cricket helmet available in the market today now would have likely prevented it.
As a tribute to Phillip Hughes, our Design studio "Inventindia" did a complete review of past incidents & trends and realized that:
•     There is a need for designing helmets that provide protection from all sides including controlling the force of an upcoming bouncer.
•     The design needs to be aesthetically appealing while no compromise is made on the safety & security features. This is needed so that they become top selling products & are endorsed by the best top line cricketers.
•     Not just bigger helmets or bigger grills but ergonomically suited helmets that help the batsmen, fielders, umpires perform at ease without any distractions or discomfort.
The three key words here are – AESTHETIC APPEAL, ERGONOMICS & COMFORT, FULL PROTECTION & SAFETY. If these aspects are taken care of, both endorsement & enforcement will become easy.
Please see the recommended design by INVENTINDIA. Hope we create such helmets fast enough to save any future deaths.
